Festivus, the holiday for the rest of us, gained notoriety on a Seinfeld television episode. It is a holiday event celebrating everything Christmas isn’t with the centerpiece of the event being a Festivus Pole - an unadorned, lack luster aluminum pole. Wagner Companies, official makers of the Festivus Pole, based in Milwaukee, will host a Festivus Pole Lot, Friday from 7-10 pm and Saturday from 11am-3pm, selling the famed poles on the corner of Brady and Arlington. Adding to the non-festivities, FM102.1 will be broadcasting live radio remotes nightly from 9-11 pm, featuring competitions of Feats of Strength and Airing of Grievances with nightly winners and prizes for men’s and women’s categories. These remotes will take place at the NOMAD, Wed., Dec. 5; JO CATS PUB, Thurs., Dec. 6; REGANO’S ROMAN COIN, Fri., Dec. 7, and CLUB BRADY, Sat., Dec. 8. The Onion Society for Beer Enjoyment Meeting #19 meets at the Up & Under on Friday, December 7th at 7 pm to celebrate Festivus.
